Who Created What?
by Phil Maxwell October 28, 1999
Let's say, for illustration purposes, that a man wanted to build a perfect
castle to serve as his family's home for all generations to follow.
His first step, obviously, was to draw up a plan, which naturally began with a conception
of the completed project. Now, this man was very longsighted and determined to make his
castle the castle of all castles, an enduring work. In order to do this, he determined
that he'd need lots of wood of a particular variety and quality, such that could not be
readily found anywhere. He was unwilling to compromise the quality of his house no matter
what the time or cost.
So, he planted a forest and nurtured it, knowing that some of the trees would be suitable
for his castle, at least once properly hewn and milled. He also figured that eventually
one would grow that would be so absolutely perfect, he would be able to isolate it and
grow enough trees from its seed to finish his house.
As time passed, the man accumulated some of the wood needed for his dream, and eventually,
that one perfect tree did appear. About this time, his beloved son coming of age, the man
passed his plans and vision, along with the work that had been done so far, into the hands
of his faithful son, bidding him to see to it that the house was built exactly according
to the plans.
In due time, the son finished gathering the wood, leveling the forest in the process, and
built the house exactly according to his father's plans. Then, with great fanfare and
celebration, he presented the house to his father, who was greatly pleased with his son
and his son's work.
Who created what? The father created the forest from which the house was made, but his son
is the one who actually built the house. The forest was created to be destroyed once its
purpose was fulfilled, but the house was built to endure for all generations to follow.
Heb 3:1-4
Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High
Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus; Who was faithful to him that appointed him, as
also Moses was faithful in all his house. For this man was counted worthy of more glory
than Moses, inasmuch as he who hath builded the house hath more honour than the house. For
every house is builded by some man; but he that built all things is God.
Isa 40:28
Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the
Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no
searching of his understanding.
Ps 102:25-26
Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of thy
hands. They shall perish, but thou shalt endure: yea, all of them shall wax old like a
garment; as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed:
Isa 51:6
Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look upon the earth beneath: for the heavens shall
vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment, and they that dwell
therein shall die in like manner: but my salvation shall be for ever, and my righteousness
shall not be abolished.
Matt 24:35
Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
2 Pet 3:10
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall
pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth
also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
1 Cor 15:24-28
Then cometh the end, when he [Christ] shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even
the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. For he
must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. The last enemy that shall be
destroyed is death.
For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith, all things are put under
him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him. And when all
things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that
put all things under him, that God may be all in all.
Rev 20:14-21:7
And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And
whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were
passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem,
coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with
men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be
with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and
there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more
pain: for the former things are passed away.
And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me,
Write: for these words are true and faithful. And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha
and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain
of the water of life freely. He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be
his God, and he shall be my son.
My point is that Genesis marks only the beginning of creation, and that being only of
things that are ultimately to be destroyed. The real creation set forth by the power of
Yahweh (His Word) is yet to be manifested when what is now is destroyed and replaced by
the new heavens and earth. The only things of this present heaven and earth that will last
forever are those that are redeemed and sanctified by Yahshua's word. If we consider the
end of the matter, Yahshua is the Creator, albeit entirely by the power, authority, plan
given to Him by His Father.
Those who believe Yahshua implemented the creation recorded in Genesis ought to consider
this.
