Unitarian ChristologyI don't like the word 'Christology', but since I'm not in charge of the English language, I'm resigned to using it to describe the main subject of this section. In plain terms, these articles deal with the centuries-old controversies surrounding the nature and identity of, and relationship between God the Father and Yahshua (Jesus) His Son. In short, we deal with the questions:
Representing what is commonly called a Socinian or Unitarian (not Universalist) views, the articles here would have been burned right along with their authors throughout most of the two thousand years of Christianity's history. Not much attention is paid to popular views like trinitarianism and oneness (modalism), as these are both built upon the common false assumption that "Jesus is God" (i.e. the deity of Christ doctrine), which is thoroughly refuted. The De-Mystified Logos"...the 'logos' of John 1 was clearly intended to be taken as a personification, not a literal person, a view that has eluded almost the entirety of orthodox Christianity for centuries." "...Discerning what WE conclude about English renderings of John 1 is easy, but discovering what THEY were meant to understand from John's Greek text is quite another, especially in the case of this passage. One thing is for sure, the true meaning of what John wrote is not what we or anyone else thinks, but what was actually intended at the time it was written." "...My primary contention is that the Greek word ‘logos’ represented a thing and not a person to John and the Greek-speaking population of that day in general, much like the term ‘word’ is to English speaking people of this day. For instance, we might say ‘a man is his word’, but no one would take this as meaning that a man’s word is literally that man, even though the statement might literally mean that. ...Whether or not the deity of Christ doctrine is true, John wrote ‘logos’, not ‘Christ’, and meant it according to the common usage of the word in his time, not ours." Thomas 'Sees' God"...I have no problem turning to Yahshua, my Lord, to offer my prayers and supplications to His Father and my Father, His God and my God, just like Thomas did, once he came to believe that Yahshua was, in fact, the temple Yahweh had chosen to dwell in. But I won’t say, “my Lord and my God” without qualifying the difference between the temple and He who dwells within amongst people I know would assume there is no difference. The Jews of two millennia ago didn't need to be told that God is not, never has been, and never will be a man, as the people of this generation do. Neither did they have any confusion over the difference between Yahweh and His temple, though they did struggle to grasp the revelation that the man Yahshua was both the one Yahweh had appointed King over His people and the Chief Cornerstone of His temple." Resolving the Dilemma: John 17:3 & 20:28[Yahshua said] And this is life eternal, that they might know thee [Father] the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. (Jn 17:3) And Thomas answered and said unto him [Yahshua], My Lord and my God. (Jn 20:28) "...The most natural implications of John 17:3 include that Yahshua’s Father and NOT Him is the only true God. ...The most natural implications of John 20:28 include that Yahshua Himself is God. ...Neither of these verses in and of themselves provides sufficient information to form a valid conclusion as to whether Yahshua is God or not. "...While either Yahshua is God or He is not, both cannot be true: If one is true, the other is necessarily is false." (Full Article...) Who is Christ?"...There is considerable debate between Trinity and Oneness theology centered on HOW, according to their respective views, Christ is God. However, since these two camps represent the overwhelming majority of Bible-based religion today, there isn't much room for discussion regarding WHAT the Scriptures say Christ is..." (Full Article...) Jesus the Son of God"It is evident in Christianity today, that the battle line is drawn between the Trinity proponents and the One God proponents. If you do not believe in the Trinity, you are considered a heretic and antichrist by the Trinitarians. On the other hand, the One God proponents consider the Trinitarians pagans and followers of Catholicism. Neither side believes the other is saved! God has shown me plainly, by the Word, that the modern Apostolic Jesus only doctrine, as well as the Trinitarians, and Two God proponents ARE ALL WRONG in presenting their views, given the fact that the majority of them preach their positions as prerequisites for salvation! "Children of God, we have argued, and divided, and even hated one another, over positions that are entirely the doctrines of men! The Lord HAS NOT been on either side of the proponents of this issue! The Oneness and Trinity doctrines are MAN MADE. God never intended for His church to be denominated because of particular doctrines or creeds. ...Although God is not the author of any of these earthly carnal movements, He has many people that are enslaved behind the sectarian walls men have erected in the name of God..."
