God Hates this Doctrine!

by Phil Maxwell 10/97

While I was reading a book one evening, I came across the words, "Christ is God." Immediately, the Word of the Lord came to me, saying, "I hate this doctrine!" Quickly I inquired, "Why, Lord?" and the answer came, "Because I cannot show those who say 'Christ is God' that they are Christ, lest they be deceived into thinking they are God."

Prove all things, the Scriptures say, and this matter proves out to be true. First, of all, in whose image was man made? Of course, God Almighty's own image, or likeness.   Was the first Adam created in God's image?  No, he was the beginning of the creation of man that is not completed until the new heaven and earth are created, as depicted in the last chapters of Revelation.  Was the last Adam created in the image of God?  Spiritually, yes, but insofar as His birth and earthly life and ministry go, He still represented the outward image of the children of Adam.  When He was glorified, after His resurrection, then He took on the image of the heavenly.

Many are completely deceived today, not understanding God Almighty's most precious creation, man.  The first Adam was of the earth, earthy.  We read, but we do not understand.  The last Adam was the Lord from heaven, heavenly.  Spiritually, He was of the very same substance as God His Father, though he was fashioned after us, who were made in the image of Adam, not Yahshua, and not God.  Now, can we see the plan of God for the creation of man, laid before Adam was formed out of the dust of the earth?   What came first?  Adam being formed of the dust of the earth, or the Almighty Word speaking the creation of man in His own image?  Who is the firstborn of the manifestation of that Word?  Of course, Yahshua the Messiah, the Savior, the firstbegotten of the dead (which would be us!).

What does Christ or Messiah mean?  It is not the name of the only begotten Son of God, it is the anointment that was upon Him.  It means the "anointed one."   He was and is the anointed of God.  What does that mean?  It means that He was given the Spirit without measure, that He was given the power and authority to forgive sins, to have life within himself, to command demons and even Satan himself, to heal all manner of sickness and disease, to raise the dead, to have complete authority over heaven and earth!  In other words, to be LIKE God Almighty, His Father, in the very IMAGE of the Almighty Creator of heaven and earth.  He was and is truly ONE with the Father, as the Church will someday be.

Now, look, do not the Scriptures say plainly that Yahshua has become the head of the body, the Church, now that He has overcome the world and entered into the glory of God the Father?  He promised and demonstrated that the Church was to hold the keys to the kingdom of heaven on the earth.  We are told in Col.2 and Eph. 3 that the fulness of God is to dwell within the Church, Yahshua's body.  We, the members of the body of Christ, are to be transformed into Yahshua's image; when we see Him, we are to be like Him.  In other words, the Church is to bear the same anointment in the earth that Yahshua did while he physically walked amongst men.  The Church is to do even greater works than He did.  The Church is to be the "Anointed One" on earth!

Therefore, when the members of the Church and/or the Church at large, declare that "Yahshua is God," that the "Son of God" means "God the Son", and that "Christ is God," they make it impossible for God to finish His work in them.  Yahshua, though in the very image of God, humbled himself before both God and man, enabling God to be fully manifested within Him without such power and authority being corrupted and corrupting Him, as has historically happened over and over again whenever God richly blessed His people with His presence.  The Church now says, "Yahshua was God," defying the very thing that made Yahshua unique amongst men, that even though the fulness of God's anointment was upon Him, He humbled Himself, being obedient even unto death.

What Christ was, God wants to make us; what Christ is, God wants us to be!  In this is the fulfillment of the creation of man, who was not made to be earthy, as was Adam, but was made to be heavenly, as Christ is.  When we confuse the glory of God present in the Yahshua we read about in the Scriptures with Him being God Himself, how, then, can God finish the work in us, to make us like Yahshua?  Will not this same deception cause us to think ourselves more than we ought, rather than humbling ourselves to God as Yahshua did?  How can we be fully transformed into the Sons of God that is the will of the Father to accomplish, if we do not believe there to be any difference between the "Son of God" and "God the Son"?  Will we not become victims of the enemy through our pride, which is built upon this deception.  How can Christ in us, the hope of glory, be fully manifested if we perceive the anointment that is Christ to be the same as the one anointed?  Will we not perceive the anointment God would place upon us as being of ourselves, rather than of God the Father?

God hates this doctrine!  God, who so loved the world that he gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever would believe in Him would never perish, but have eternal life, hates anything that obstructs His holy plan of redemption.  Before Adam was formed out of the dust of the earth, God created the ends of the earth wherein man exists in His own image.  All that is and ever has been, and will be within the creation of the one, true Almighty God, YAHWEH, has been done to accomplish the glorification of man to be in His image forever, that He might be our God, and we His people, and that He might dwell amongst us eternally.  There is only ONE GOD ALMIGHTY, even the FATHER, YAHWEH, who has always been, and will forever be.  When we open the door of our hearts and minds to anything other than that, we shut the door to His desire to reveal Christ, the anointed one, in us, which is the glory that God has intended for us before laying the foundations of the earth. If we do not allow God to reveal Yahshua the man, the only begotten Son of God, crucified, resurrected, exalted, made both Lord and Christ by God, His Father, then it is impossible that Yahshua can reveal the Father to us.

God hates this doctrine!
