Many think that attempting to correlate events in the world to details in the apocalyptic prophecies of Daniel and Revelation is a foolish waste of time. They are quick to point out that Yahshua told His disciples that not even He or the angels knew when His kingdom would be manifested in the world, as though the knowledge was forever sealed up and out of any earthbound human being’s grasp. Yet, nothing could be further from the truth: Daniel specifically foretold of latter day saints who would understand the mysterious prophecies and timelines he outlined, and Yahshua said nothing even remotely implying otherwise. The details of Daniel’s predictions were to remain mysterious until the end times, which were not on the near horizon in Yahshua and the apostles’ generation, but they were just as certain to be understood in time. Both prophets’ transcriptions were messages sent through time to those who would face the things they saw from afar. Yahshua’s efforts to focus His disciples on their own commission was merely affirming that the end times were not their direct concern; theirs was to spread the gospel throughout the world. It is apparent throughout both prophecies that the keys to understanding them are to be found in the manifestation of the things described in them. The saints are strongly admonished throughout to be spiritually alert and are promised special blessings up to and including beheading for so doing. Those who are complacent and unprepared may save their heads for a time, but only at the expense of their souls. In contrast, there are no biblical warnings pertaining to being overly concerned about the horrors Daniel, John, and other prophets predicted in advance. That doesn’t prevent many modern Christian’s scorn and ridicule against the
very exercise of investigating things like prophetic time periods and the number
of the beast, regardless of conclusions drawn regarding the same. It is strange
that so many believe that time is very short for the world as we know it, but
scoff at any effort to make sense of the specific prophecies about the relative
timing of significant end time events. Such attitudes are tantamount to
unbelief, social acceptance notwithstanding. It is exactly what Yahshua
addressed when He said, “what I say to you, I say to all,‘Be on the alert!’”
Noah’s saving faith was rooted in his knowledge and belief of the word of God,
and so will it be those who heed Yahshua’s words with one eye on the Bible and
the other on world events. Their task will be to bear Yahshua’s own testimony
in the world, the spirit of prophecy, which the book of Revelation itself
signifies. True understanding of it and related prophecies in Therefore, while latter day scoffers are to be expected, faithful believers will watch for possible fulfillments of end time prophecies all the more. According to scripture, it is just as certain that these things would come into view as the day nears as that they would remain mysterious until then. Yahweh’s seal on certain knowledge pertaining to His plans was always intended to be removed at the appointed time. Most will not recognize the signs of the time, choosing to expect peace and safety in spite of what some will see us manifestations of the ancient prophets’ predictions of impending doom. Luke12:45 "But if that slave says in his heart, 'My master will be a long time in coming,' and begins to beat the slaves, both men and women, and to eat and drink and get drunk; 46 the master of that slave will come on a day when he does not expect him, and at an hour he does not know, and will cut him in pieces, and assign him a place with the unbelievers.
Acts1:6 And so when they had come together, they were asking Him, saying, "Lord, is it at this time You are restoring the kingdom to Israel?" 7 He said to them, "It is not for you to know times or epochs which the Father has fixed by His own authority;
1 Thessalonians5:1 Now as to the times and the epochs, brethren, you have no need of anything to be written to you. 2 For you yourselves know full well that the day of the Lord will come just like a thief in the night. 3 While they are saying, "Peace and safety!" then destruction will come upon them suddenly like birth pangs upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. 4 But you, brethren, are not in darkness, that the day should overtake you like a thief; 5 for you are all sons of light and sons of day. We are not of night nor of darkness; 6 so then let us not sleep as others do, but let us be alert and sober.
Daniel8:14: And he said to me, "For 2,300 evenings and mornings; then the holy
place will be properly restored." 15 And it came about when I, Daniel, had seen
the vision, that I sought to understand it; and behold, standing before
me was one who looked like a man. 10:14 "Now I have come to give you an understanding of what will happen to your people in the latter days, for the vision pertains to the days yet future." 11:33 "And those who have insight among the people will give understanding to the many; yet they will fall by sword and by flame, by captivity and by plunder, for many days. 12:4 "But as for you, Daniel, conceal these words and seal up the book until the end of time; many will go back and forth, and knowledge will increase." 5 Then I, Daniel, looked and behold, two others were standing, one on this bank of the river, and the other on that bank of the river. 6 And one said to the man dressed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, "How long will it be until the end of these wonders?" 7 And I heard the man dressed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, as he raised his right hand and his left toward heaven, and swore by Him who lives forever that it would be for a time, times, and half a time; and as soon as they finish shattering the power of the holy people, all these events will be completed. 8 As for me, I heard but could not understand; so I said, "My lord, what
will be the outcome of these events?" 9 And he said, "Go your way, Daniel, for
these words are concealed and sealed up until the end time. 10
"Many will be purged, purified and refined; but the wicked will act wickedly,
and none of the wicked will understand, but those who have insight will
understand. 11 "And from the time that the regular sacrifice is
abolished, and the abomination of desolation is set up, there will be 1,290
days. 12 "How blessed is he who keeps waiting and attains to the 1,335 days! 13
"But as for you, go your way to the end; then you
Revelation1:1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show to His bond-servants, the things which must shortly take place; and He sent and communicated it by His angel to His bond-servant John, 2 who bore witness to the word of God and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, even to all that he saw. 3 Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of the prophecy, and heed the things which are written in it; for the time is near. 22:6 And he said to me, 22:10 And he said to me, "Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is near. 11 "Let the one who does wrong, still do wrong; and let the one who is filthy, still be filthy; and let the one who is righteous, still practice righteousness; and let the one who is holy, still keep himself holy." 12 "Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to render to every man according to what he has done. …20 He who testifies to these things says, "Yes, I am coming quickly." 13:18 Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for the number is that of a man; and his number is six hundred and sixty-six.
