Timeline (2003-2004)
This Chronology or Timeline traces events of Arnold Schwarzenegger's life from the first year of his entry into politics in the California gubernatorial recall election through his first year in office (2003-2004). Information is source-referenced where possible and thought to be accurate. 12/23/2004 - Montana Representative Promotes Foreign-born President Amendment - Montana state representative Chris Harris, a democrat, has announced his intention to "ask the Montana Legislature to ratify a pending proposed federal constitutional amendment to allow foreign-born, naturalized Americans to run for president of the United States," according to an article appearing in the Billings Gazette. It took less than four months from the beginning of congressional debate to passage by the 38th state to ratify the 26th amendment allowing 18 year olds to vote in 1971. In that case, the matter wasn't even considered by any state legislatures until after the matter had been debated and ratified by Congress. (Source: Presidential amendment proposed - billingsgazette.com) 12/22/2004 - Odds Against President Schwarzenegger Plummet - Having previously moved from 500:1 to 50:1, the current gambling odds against Arnold Schwarzenegger becoming the next U.S. president now stand at 20:1, trailing behind frontrunners Hillary Clinton at 5:1, Rudolf Guiliani at 8:1. According to ReadaBet.com, the California governor ranks 10th on a list of 28 names offered as betting choices between two booking agents. Serious gamblers may want to shop around, though, since another online site, BetWWTS.com, published odds of 100:1 against Schwarzenegger becoming the 2008 Republican nominee, though offers nothing on the election itself. (ReadaBet.com offers only 10:1 odds on Schwarzenegger's nomination.) Several other online gambling services were also offering betting odds on the 2008 presidential nomination and election that didn't include Schwarzenegger, like www.paddypower.com. 12/18/2004 - Schwarzenegger Reaches for Influence over Republican Platform - In an interview published in a German newspaper, Schwarzenegger proposed moves for the Republicans to gain 5% of the Democrat's constituency without losing any of their own by moving their platform "a little further left and place more weight on the center." The governor also offered more of his typical boasts of his successes and indications of his true ambitions, efforts to downplay them notwithstanding, saying, "I would like people to remember me as someone who raised standards, wherever I got involved. I brought bodybuilding from nothing, I made the action film a genre, and the same goes for politics - I want to do things that no one believed possible. I would like to bring people together as governor." 12/18/2004 - Real Estate Expert Sole Nominee for Biotech Czar - California's new stem cell research oversight committee met for the first time to unanimously select real estate finance expert Robert N. Klein to as its chairman. The newly appointed 29-member committee is responsible for the administration of the 300 million dollar a year stem cell research appropriation recently authorized by the passage of Proposition 71, a measure heavily promoted by Governor Schwarzenegger. The governor was one of four top-level California officials endorsing Klein's nomination, including Lt. Governor Bustamante, and the only of the four who hadn't received campaign contributions from Klein. Other items on the agenda for the closed-door meeting were postponed after questions of the legality closing the meeting to the public were raised. Klein, who co-authored the initiative and contributed $3 million and considerable time to promoting it, had also openly lobbied for the chairmanship, for which he was the only nominee. He also supported the nomination of of Dr. Edward N. Penhoet for vice-chairman, whose election was the only other action taken in the committee's first meeting aside from swearing the two in. Penhoet received 21 of 25 votes. One of the four candidates for vice-chair of the committee, Charles Halpern, is considering a lawsuit to overturn the appointments. He expressed concern that Klein was the only candidate for the chairmanship, that very little biographical information was provided on any of the nominees, and that no time was given for background checks and vetting. Others said they weren't even given a chance to familiarize themselves with the roles of the positions they were filling. (Source: http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/state/20041218-9999-1n18stem.html ) 12/17/2004 - CQ on Schwarzenegger - Congressional Quarterly columnist Craig Crawford observes, "Arnold Schwarzenegger is my favorite politician to watch in 2005," and aptly points out, "Schwarzenegger’s supporters could look to the amendment lowering the voting age to 18 as the model for speedy change. On March 23, 1971, Congress referred the measure to the states after a debate that took less than two weeks. A little more than three months later, with a June 30 vote in Ohio, the 26th Amendment was ratified." (Source: CQ.com) 12/12/2004 - Internet Users Searching for Schwarzenegger-Antichrist Related Websites - Search engine giant Google reports nearly 8,000 searches in November for terms including 'arnold' and/or 'schwarzenegger' coupled with the word 'antichrist' and 145,000 on the term 'president schwarzenegger'. The full results plus similar queries from Overture and Wordtracker are shown below, and we will report trends as they develop in the future. At present, ScatteredSheep.com's Arnichrist pages are listed twice each in the top ten of both Google and Yahoo amongst 9,840 and 8,080 other pages respectively listed under the search term 'schwarzenegger antichrist'. Our traffic largely tracks the media attention on Schwarzenegger, but lately about 30-40 people a day on average find their way here via search engine searches for 'schwarzenegger antichrist' and related terms.
12/10/2004 - Letter Values of 'PRESIDENT ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER' = 666By Phil Maxwell, December 11, 2004Realizing that political leaders are generally known by their title and name (e.g. President George Bush, Prime Minister Tony Blair, etc.), I thought it a good idea to "calculate the number" of my chief antichrist suspect's name as it would be known if and when he ascended to being leader of the "free" world. Beginning with the most obvious name, 'President Arnold Schwarzenegger' and applying the most simple and common method of valuating letters, I counted A=1, B=2, etc., and added it up. Needless to say, I was shocked at the outcome: 333, exactly half of 666. This was close, but still, 333 does not equal 666, and without a reason to multiply by two, seemed a near miss at best, perhaps an indication that Arnold might be a forerunner or otherwise related to the antichrist, but not actually the culprit. In other words, it seemed more like Nebuchadnezzar's 60 by 6 cubit image or the similar total of 66 derived by using the same code for the name 'Hitler' -- close, but no cigar. Yet the same urging that drove me to this wouldn't rest, so I looked again, applying one of those basic math principles I learned 35 years ago, but could never name. If the total could be multiplied by 2 to get 666, then the individual letter values could be doubled, also. While still lacking a reason to view it as such, the fact that the letters of 'President Arnold Schwarzenegger' totaled 666 when valued as even numbers (A=2, B=4, etc.) peaked my interest. Then it hit me: Our alphabet is actually a 52 character set, not 26, because we have both upper and lower case variations of each letter. Further, it seemed just as natural to calculate the megalomaniacal antichrist's name in all capitals as otherwise. The fact that Arnold Schwarzenegger is now unofficially running for president and seems to have the confident endorsement of former President George H.W. Bush and many other VIP's adds a lot of currency to the correlation, as do dozens of other prophetic pointers aiming at him, some rather uniquely. As I've stated in the course of documenting this investigation, the lack of a relationship between Arnold Schwarzenegger's name and the number 666 was a major hole in this case, but not any more. I'll be keeping my eyes and ears open, but mostly I'll be focusing on the works and surrounding circumstances of the biblical antichrist, and Arnold will be the primary object of comparison until someone else just like him rises to a prominent sub-national leadership political position like a cabinet secretary or governor. Except for the fact that the antichrist's crimes against humanity haven't yet been committed, the case is made, in my opinion, and the predictions of the word of God are more reliable than FOX News reports. Time will tell. © Phil Maxwell 12/11/2004; May be freely distributed for non-commercial purposes according to terms set forth at Copyright Notice.12/08/2004 - Roman Catholic Indulgences? - In what Jamie Court, president of the Foundation for Taxpayer and Consumer Rights, called "releasing the numerator but not the denominator," Governor Schwarzenegger released partial details of his (not Maria's) tax returns. The fact that Schwarzenegger is one of the wealthiest public office holders in the country isn't news, and neither is there anything unusual about people in such a position to trying to cast a false image of transparency. However, a few of the media outlets reporting on the disclosures included a mention of (what I consider) a rather notable charitable contribution reported on his 2001 tax return: He gave a 2 million dollar Santa Monica house to the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Los Angeles. I wonder what 14 Hail Mary's and 2 million dollars will get you from an archbishop? I'll bet it's more than absolution... According to the LA Archdiocese website, "Cardinal Roger Michael Mahony was appointed Archbishop of Los Angeles by Pope John Paul II on July 16, 1985. He was installed as the fourth Archbishop of Los Angeles on September 5, 1985. Pope John Paul II created him a cardinal on June 28, 1991. Born in Hollywood, Cardinal Mahony is the first native Angeleno and the third Archbishop of Los Angeles to be created a cardinal." He was ordained to priesthood May 1, 1962. As bishop of Stockton, California, Mahony and the diocese lost a 30 million dollar verdict on behalf of two victims of a pedophile priest he protected. The case related to abuse suffered by twin brothers between 1964 and 1975, but wasn't filed until years later when they discovered that the culprit was working as a chaplain in a hospital serving children, event though they'd been promised he'd never "wear a [priest's] collar again." Then in April 2004, Mahony was named in another suit involving sexual abuse under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) statutes by the same lawyer who prosecuted the former case plus several hundred other similar cases since 1983, Jeffrey Anderson from St. Paul. According to Anderson, he "made Mahony the centerpiece of this suit because he is a mastermind of deceiving parents, deceiving parishioners, deceiving police and deceiving prosecutors." The suit alleges he concealed crimes by failing to remove predatory priests and by lying to parishioners. 12/07/2004 - Amend for Arnold Group Claims International Appeal - Announcing the debut of a second television commercial and advertising campaign, the group claims that "the whole world is taking note" and to have been contacted by press representatives from England, France, Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, Canada, Japan, Australia, and Taiwan. 12/05/2004 - Infowars Reports "Secret" Hollywood Elite Meeting Comments - "Michael Moore, standing in front of some of the most powerful people in Hollywood , told the participants that serious forces were working “relentlessly” to amend the Constitution so Arnold Schwarzenegger could run for President in 2008." Source: Michael Moore Tells Hollywood Elite to Brace for Schwarzenegger Presidential Candidacy in 2008 12/03/2004 - USA Today White Washes the Dark Plowman's White House Bid - Although not in the op-ed section, USA Today's article, "Should the Constitution be amended for Arnold?" gives some good background information on the various initiatives promoting his potential election and the Constitutional amendment that would have to be passed first. About the only ment ion detractors get is a revealing generalization, "So far, the most vocal opposition has come from people who simply don't like Schwarzenegger," followed by a quote from Alex Jones supposedly establishing the point...as though there aren't any reasonable arguments against the notion, just mean hate-mongers who don't like Arnold for their own bizarre personal reasons. Source: USATODAY.com - Should the Constitution be amended for Arnold? @ http://www.usatoday.com/news/politicselections/2004-12-02-schwarzenegger-amendment_x.htm?csp=34 12/03/2004 - Schwarzenegger puts "Christ" back in "Christ-mass" - Though unmentioned by him, the media has made headlines of Schwarzenegger's reference to the tradition "holiday tree" as a "Christmas tree" in the annual tree lighting ceremony today in Sacramento. After recounting his youthful Christmas experiences, he added, ''Back then not in my wildest dreams did I think about that one day I would be standing here in front of the Capitol in Sacramento... as the governor and lighting the official state Christmas tree." (No, it would seem he was thinking more like the White House or the United Nations...) Source: Monterey County Herald | 12/03/2004 | Schwarzenegger lights state Christmas tree Expect more headline appeals to the political Christians who are willing to sacrifice anything (their Lord, truth, etc.) for the sake of having "one of their own" in power. As I've been saying for a while, the base of the antichrist's power will likely come from this group, from which he's already acquired support from notable voices like Hal Lindsey and Pat Robertson. 12/03/2004 - Mastering Political Intrigue - As he begins his second year in office, Governor Schwarzenegger's popularity gives him a bully-pulpit with with California's democrat controlled legislature that he will no doubt use to push through his political agenda. Through the use or even threat of ballot measures and special elections, he's sending out a strong signal that he can get his way with or without the duly elected representatives' consent. The article discusses numerous issues that might find their way on the governor's legislative agenda, including measures pertaining to redistricting districts, making the legislature "part time", and various fiscal measures. According to the article, "Democratic Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez said Schwarzenegger's repeated use of the ballot -- where his popularity with voters is a potent weapon -- amounts to a disdain for representative government, where policymaking power rests with elected officials." Source: ContraCostaTimes.com | 12/03/2004 | Schwarzenegger could let initiatives do the governing 12/02/2004 - More Arnie for President Websites Located - I've located two more amend for the arnichrist websites, one apparently an exact duplication of amendus.com, at www.amendforarnold.com , the other slightly different at ..:: Operation Arnold : For The Strongest America ::.. (www.operationarnold.com). The latter humorously polls the question, "When Will Arnold Run For President?" but fails to offer any other choices but 2008 and 2012. Personally, I'm thinking 2005 or 2006...but then, I'm thinking that a duly elected sitting president isn't a big deal for someone who seems to have already knocked down one of three prophesied "horns" (political leaders) the antichrist will uproot. As to a running mate, the next poll question lists Rudy Giulliani, Hillary Clinton, Jeb Bush, Jennifer Granholm, John McCain, Bill O'Reilly, Bill Frist, and Barack Obama. After 642 votes, the results have Giulliani running away with it at 43%, with Hillary Clinton in second at 22%. The next in line was Barack Obama, trailing by over 10 points, and my personal favorite, Bill O'Reilly, was second to last at only 3.6%. At least we don't have to amend the Constitution to get him, though. Personally, I like a Schwarzenegger-Gorbachev ticket with Bill O-Reilly as Secretary of Defense, and Hillary Clinton as the Attorney General. Giulliani would make a great presidential assistant like Monica Lewinsky, but I just don't see anything else for him. 12/02/2004 - Rohrbacher says Arnold is Republican Party's Choice - In an audio interview with Alex Jones, Lissa Morgenthaler-Jones, the apparent primary driver of the Amend for Arnold group recently in the news (amendus.com), the latter proved herself an adept spokesperson for the developing Arni-cult. A summary press release is promised, but only an audio (mp3) version is available at present. She had no comments to the interviewer's question about an alleged comment by Representative Rohrbacher, the sponsor of the House proposal her group supports, that Schwarzenegger was the Republican's candidate of choice for the next presidential election. Unfortunately, Alex Jones himself seems to be missing the point with regard to the futility of fighting against the word of God, but we still applaud his work in exposing the truth about this man. If Schwarzenegger is who we think he is, he WILL SUCCEED at whatever he does, and no one on this side of God's throne will be able to stop him. Many interesting quips; more comments later... Ref: http://www.prisonplanet.tv/audio/181104jones.mp3 12/01/2004 - All-American Couple - British website Digital Spy headlines, "Schwarzenegger no longer woman predator" by Daniel Saney as a preview to an upcoming Vanity Fair expose of the All-American-Dream Schwarzenegger couple. The brief article says that the governor admits to his previous problems, but claims to have changed, saying, amongst many things, "Now I would not even tell someone I like their outfit. It could go south." Ref: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/article/ds17372.html 12/01/2004 - Bush, Sr., "don't bet against" Schwarzenegger being U.S. President - Former President George H.W. Bush presented his Excellence in Public Service Award yesterday, giving what sounded like a tacit endorsement of Arnold for President, saying, "In regard to him ever being president of the United States, my advice to you Aggies and to any of those doubters, don't bet against Arnold Schwarzenegger." Interestingly, Mrs. Schwarzenegger was quoted as being dismissive of her husband's potential for the U.S. presidency because the amendment process would take so long, though not at all suggesting any objections to the notion. Interestingly, this is the first time I've noticed Maria Shriver being referred to in the media as Mrs. Schwarzenegger, which I guess probably relates to the "hot" marriage she was touting at the time, in keeping with the quintessential Kennedy-wife rhetoric, especially when her presidential wannabe husband's hedonism is one of his biggest political hurdles, possibly even more than the Constitutional prohibition presently forbidding him the opportunity. Expect to be sold the "Arnie and Maria" image of a perfect marriage and family in the future... Schwarzenegger ducked reporters at his Dallas fund-raising breakfast this morning, though it was reported that approximately 50 Texas business leaders paid between $1,000 and $20,000 each for a chance to share some bacon and eggs with the California governor. Though he's yet to announce what if any offices he plans to campaign for, he's accumulated somewhere approaching $3 million dollars since taking office. 12/01/2004 - TEXANS FOR ARNOLD - Citing the San Jose Mercury News, Newsmax.com reports (11/25/2004) that California Governor Schwarzenegger will be picking up another $150,000 for his bulging political war chest next Wednesday, December 1, though for what future campaign remains a question. The Mercury News reported earlier that he had raised over $20 million for his campaign fund since taking office a year ago. While the article speculates only about a re-election bid, the fact that this will come from a "small" group of Texans at a breakfast fundraiser seems to jive more with his now open presidential aspirations than another term as Governor of California. 11/30/2004 - Gorbachev, Kohl, Kennedy...Schwarzenegger? - George Bush Presidential Library Foundation announced November 8 that Governor Schwarzenegger would be the fourth recipient of the George Bush Award for Excellence in Public Service. The award puts the rookie Governor on a list of political giants who have been honored with the Bush award in the past: They are former Soviet Premiere Mikhail Gorbachev, Former German Chancellor Helmut Kohl, and Senator Edward Kennedy of Massachusetts. (See Arnie Anamoly for comments on the antichrist attribute of being generally "different" than his peers.) Foundation Executive Director Ambassador Roman Popadiuk explained the selection of Schwarzenegger by alluding to his huge success in life and being one of the most "recognizable people in the world." Noting that he had only been "in elective office one year," Popadiuk added, "but his record of service to others, particularly children, dates back many years -- and his remarkable success speaks for itself." Perhaps Schwarzenegger's insertion amongst three historically significant politicians has more to do with his future than his past? Ref: http://www.klkntv.com/Global/story.asp?S=2536017 11/25/2004 - Amend for Arnold spreads to 50 states - The apparently well-funded and connected "Amend for Arnold" (www.amendus.com) movement reports volunteers in all 50 states, thanks in no small measure to the media's broad coverage of their otherwise mostly insignificant web-based campaign. Perhaps Bill's having a hard time meeting his blonde guest quotas these days and isn't really trying to help his fellow Catholic Republican... 11/23/04 - William Safire in support of "The 28th Amendment" (11/23/04) - "...The unequalizer in the Constitution cries out for fixing. Some of us have been muttering about this for decades, but it's always been academic - a theoretical exercise in excising a discriminatory phrase whose purpose has long since atrophied. Comes now Arnold Schwarzenegger, an immigrant from Austria who by a fluke of recall was able to circumvent the centrist-blocking primaries and get himself elected governor of California. Four of the last 10 presidential elections have been won by former officeholders of that largest state in the Union. Suddenly the theoretical possibility has taken human shape. If we Americans cannot change Schwarzenegger into "natural born" (lay on, Macduff!) we can change the law to give "naturalized" its complete meaning. He's a libertarian conservative, a man of the right whose popularity is rising on the Left Coast. Under the tutelage of former Secretary of State George Shultz and former Governor Pete Wilson, he is using his celebrity, charisma and political moxie to break up the logrolling logjam that put this state into the hands of easily rolled legislators and budget-busting initiative rule. Would he make a good national campaigner? No doubt. Would he make a good president? Much too soon to tell. He picks the best advisers and has been acting on their advice, but I get the impression Ah-nold is too full of himself. He would do well with the humility gained by a setback and a comeback. He has been traveling to Israel and Japan, ostensibly for California's economy while burnishing his image as a potential world leader. Though modesty does not come easily to him, he professes to demur at the "Amend for Arnold" buttons that some supporters have been sporting to push for the 28th Amendment: Equal Rights for Immigrants. My guess is that most liberals will be conflicted as this issue develops; anti-discrimination is an article of faith, but they don't want a yodeling Republican cowboy in the White House. Contrariwise, some right-wingers who look askance at a pro-choice candidate who is comfortable with gays are also closet nativists. Yet both camps know that Hispanics make up the swingiest ethnic vote, growing each year, and could be influenced mightily by an issue like equal rights for immigrants. One step up at a time. After ratification of the 28th Amendment in 2007, I envision a Republican ticket the next year with Rudy Giuliani or John McCain on top and Schwarzenegger as running mate. For Democrats, Evan Bayh or Hillary Clinton for president, Peter Jennings (Canadian-born) for vice president. Chew that one over." They also state that William Safire expressed support for their movement's cause. 11/20/2004 - Gov.'s World Tour May Be a Presidential Campaign Trail - As Schwarzenegger racks up global photo ops, backers seek to amend the Constitution - LA Times report includes:
11/19/2004 - "Documentary filmmaker and radio host Alex Jones founded Americans Against Arnold to unite the American people in a grassroots effort to counter Arnold Schwarzenegger and his forces attempt to butcher the United States Constitution." Announced in the media in the wake of earlier Amend for Arnold campaign debut the week of 11/19/2004. Focused on politics, Jones promises to "run TV and radio ads starting in Texas and California alerting the American people to the clear and present danger that Arnold Schwarzenegger poses to our nation." Although main focus is political, Jones intends to make ArnoldExposed.com "a meticulously documented encyclopedia of Arnold's sinister, grotesque and even barbaric activities, from his nazi links to illegal drug use and sexual harassment." 11/19/2004 - Former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright to Little Rock Rotary Club, "We are a country of immigrants. I think that it would be not a bad thing to try to figure out how to allow foreign-born people to become president." Co-founder, Lissa Morgenthaler-Jones says in the ads, "background: white; You cannot choose the land of your birth. You can choose the land you love." In separate comments, she added, "He is what we've been waiting for: a centrist. It's going to take someone really strong -- maybe a guy who used to lift 500 pounds -- to be able to hold the center." Other co-founders listed on their website are Morgenthaler-Jones' husband, David Jones, and Mimi Chen. Their website says that they "don't expect Arnold to be part of this effort," but cites a recent 'yes' answer their hero gave on Tony Snow's radio program when asked if he'd like to run for President. They say, "THAT'S the day we started www.AmendforArnold.com," adding, "We also know Arnold will like this because three days later, Lissa told him what we were doing. (He grinned.)" Of course, the implied personal relationship between this well-reputed financial guru in biotech equities who served on Arnold's campaign finance committee is evident, also, though nothing officially puts his name on this initiative.
Their eerily cultic rhetoric includes a claim to have "started volunteering for Arnold two years ago [because] Arnold would make a good President....." When did Arnold actually begin his bid for Governor? Elsewhere, a footnote claims that Morgenthaler-Jones "joined Arnold’s Finance Committee on August 6th, the day after he announced." They offer a number of creative ways to support the cause, including an enticement for early volunteers to have their name inscribed on an "Honor Roll Scroll" they'll be giving Arnold for Christmas. Those who sign up 40 more people will even get a star by their name! Oh, won't Arnold be delighted! Others may wish to purchase or make their own "AmendforArnold" T-shirt, especially since they claim that it provokes potential proselytes to talk with them "every single day". And for the "group run", they suggest getting your friends together for a walk, run, or ride together and "form a 'centipede' carrying an AmendforArnold banner." They'll even post a picture on their website, just in case that isn't humiliating enough. 10/31/2004 - In a feature on CBS's "60 Minutes," Arnold Schwarzenegger expressed unequivocal interest in running for president, a question he had formerly dodged, though he'd previously expressed support for a constitutional amendment to allow foreign-born citizens to run for president...
10/29/2004 - In a rare campaign appearance on Bush's behalf, Schwarzenegger tells a crowd in Columbus, OH, "I am here to pump you up to re-elect President George W. Bush." Bush often blasts Sen. John F. Kerry for having "Hollywood values,'' and says his own values come from the heartland. But senior adviser Karl Rove insisted it was not a contradiction to have one of the biggest Hollywood stars stumping for Bush. "He is a great American success story, came here with nothing in his pockets and by hard work made himself successful in bodybuilding and in real estate and business ventures and being a movie actor and now being a very successful governor of Florida - I mean California,'' Rove said. - BostonHerald.com - National Politics: Schwarzenegger helps pump Bush up (10/30/2004) @ http://news.bostonherald.com/election/view.bg?articleid=51620 (02/20/2005) 10/8/2004 - The Sacramento Bee reports that while maintaining extremely high popularity amongst Californians as governor, nearly 2:1 oppose amending the U.S. Constitution to allow foreign-born citizens to be President.
