- From Steroid User to Promoter
"When federal drug agents swept in to subpoena current and past
competitors at the annual pro bodybuilding competition staged by California
Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, it was a sharp reminder of the pervasive
connection between the sport and steroids.
Despite Schwarzenegger's repeated pronouncements that steroids are
harmful and should be banned from the sport, there is widespread use of
steroids, human growth hormones and other illegal performance-enhancing drugs
among competitors at the contest that bears his name.
As he has since he and a partner created the Arnold Classic in 1989,
Schwarzenegger -- seven-time winner of bodybuilding's top prize, the Mr.
Olympia contest -- plans to attend when the winner is crowned and receives the
$100,000 prize on March 5 in Columbus, Ohio.
The raid at the Columbus, Ohio, competition last March helped lead to
the federal indictments of Milos Sarcev, who finished fifth at the Arnold
Classic in 1995, and Dennis James, a two-time competitor. Sarcev has been
linked to Victor Conte, the figure at the heart of the scandal involving the
Bay Area Laboratory Co-operative, which has implicated stars from baseball,
football and track and field. The two men are awaiting trial in a Des Moines,
Iowa, federal court on charges of illegally distributing steroids..."

"...This
source, who recently headed a Republican congressional campaign in the Golden
State, said...that Arnold was publicly, regularly crying like a "sissy little

Governor sucks. He whines about the bickering, he whines about not being able

- Schwarzenegger spars with women's groups
"...Now, an effort
to paint the state's teachers as little more than a balky special interest group
has angered many critics, who have begun to question why constituencies
dominated by women have been subjected to such tough talk.
"He behaves like an arrogant patriarch with respect to women's occupations,"
said Rose Ann De Moro, executive director of the California Nurses Association.
"Nurses, teachers, home health workers -- it's vulgar how he's run roughshod
over them. He's arrogant, and he's a bully."
As a candidate, Schwarzenegger was dogged by allegations that he had groped and
humiliated women on movie sets. Since then, he has won over many skeptics by
appointing women to key staff positions and relying on his wife, journalist and
Democrat Maria Shriver, as his closest adviser.
But recently, as he has pressed for budget cuts and a broad package of
government reform proposals, some of his turbocharged rhetoric has opened him to
charges that his views on women are demeaning and macho.
In December, a small group of nurses gathered at a state women's conference to
protest Schwarzenegger's decision to side with hospitals and delay changes to
the state's nurse-to-patient ratio. With Shriver in the audience, Schwarzenegger
responded to the protesters by saying, "The special interests don't like me in
Sacramento because I am always kicking their butts."
The nurses union denounced his comment, and the attacks on the governor have
only escalated since.
"The arrogance of taking on teachers, nurses and other professions where women
are underpaid, overworked and vital to society is beyond the pale," said Jamie
Court, president of the Foundation for Taxpayer and Consumer Rights and a
frequent Schwarzenegger critic. "But Arnold is someone who treats women as
objects, so it's natural for him to have a tendency to disregard and devalue
professions that are made up of women."
The California Teachers Association and the California Nurses Association
recently showed a willingness to take on the governor, staging protests and
buying ads critical of his policies and proposals.
Schwarzenegger has denounced teachers for blocking improvements to education and
has made merit-based pay for teachers a centerpiece of his government reform
plan..." -

PBMax Blog may be of
interest to some. There's a lot about Schwarzenegger and other topics on
Scattered Sheep that isn't included here. It's supposed to allow comments
to be posted, though I haven't tested that yet. However, the
Simple Truth Discussion Center
has been around since 1996 and comments are welcome there (no registration

Though low in activity, a number of good people check in regularly and most new

and/or elicit a response than email. While all views in free flowing
dialogue and debates are encouraged, personal attacks or other overtly
anti-Christian words are strictly disallowed. Sadly, there seems to be a
lot more "Christians" looking for a fight than willing to openly air
controversial issues in a Christ-like way, but we determined long ago that
hosting a board as a Christian venue included the responsibility of deliberately
avoiding becoming a sponsor of evil. The site also allows users to

02/08/2005 - AFA (Amend for Arnold) Notebook, from Capitol Hill: - "Another day of making the rounds on Capitol Hill --- finding out who's for us and who could care less.
Some funny moments stood out --- during breakfast when a reporter told us, "Politicians in Congress don't talk about Arnold because they're terrified of him." (They should be!) Congressmen assume there's no sentient life outside the Beltway, but "they're scared of Arnold's redistricting initiative." (Issues that start in California quite often spread east.....)
...And then there was a funny moment we hope not to repeat: we met with Representative John Conyers' staff in the House Judiciary Committee. Sam-the-staffer told us Conyers (a Democrat) reintroduced his amendment on January 4th, the first day of this new 109th Congress. (Oooooops --- we're supposed to know these things!)
When we asked how we could help Conyers and his team, the staffer said, "Talk to the Republican chairman who runs the committee." The chairman in question is Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner of Wisconsin.......so one day soon, we'll be asking you Wisconsin volunteers to give Mr. Sensenbrenner a call!" - Source: http://www.amendus.com (2/9/05)
02/07/2005 - Amend for Arnold (AFA) Lobbies Congress - According to their website, "We're in Washington, D.C. today, meeting with consultants and congressional staff on amending the Constitution for naturalized citizens. This is a range-finding mission to find out (1) which congressmen actually care about this issue, and (2) what can we do to support them? Thus far, we've learned that immigration is going to be a VERY big issue in this congress. The question is, how much headway can we make on amending for 12 million naturalized immigrants when Congress will be focussing on the 18 million immigrants who AREN'T American citizens, plus the estimated 1 million a year who sneak over our borders? Well, off to visit another congressman's office. Will update you later on what we hear." - Source: http://www.amendus.com (2/7/05)
We'll be monitoring and reporting any committee action on the "Amend for Arnie" bills pending in Congress.
02/07/2005 - Another President Schwarzenegger Endorsement - Staunch democrat and John Kerry supporter, Jon Bon Jovi, would vote for his long-time friend, Arnold Schwarzenegger, to be president "right now," according to ContactMusic.com. His glowing endorsement included, "I would vote for him right now. I've known him a long time. I think he's a brilliant man, on and off the camera, and he's the most hard-working man, the most focused I've ever seen. He knows more about our country, having come to this country as an Austrian, than a lot of people who have never been to our Statue of Liberty. Forget the history concept, he understands what it is to come from nothing and he knows very well what it is to have everything... He came and worked as a construction worker in Santa Monica. I think he had a well-rounded background. I've been in a room with him and talk about people that light up a room. I think world leaders are gonna come to see him the same way." million calculations to date). However, only a handful rate serious consideration as both reasonably rendered and calculated, and even fewer on the basis of other biblical qualifications. Although Arnold tops the list with a BNF (Beast Number Factor) of 94, a few others also make the A-List, like Al Gore, Bill Clinton, Tony Blair, Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert, and Senate President Pro Tem Ted Stevens,
to name only a few. If you haven't already, you really should check this out: Beast Number Factor Index ~ BNF A-List ~ Antichrist Candidate Evaluations.
1/31/2005 - A&E debuts TV movie "See Arnold Run" - Airing the
pseudo-biography of Arnold Schwarzenegger four consecutive times last night, the Arts &
Entertainment Network became something akin to an 8 hour dramatized dis-infomercial
meets the Jerry Lewis telethon, except the product/cause being sold was the one
referred to as "a beast" several times in the movie...Schwarzenegger himself.
It was a very well packaged "buy now, pay later" presentation: All the
viewers were subtly bid to do was believe the image cast of the man determined
to rule the world cast in the movie, and that was painlessly administered under
the anesthesia of entertainment.
While seeming to address his apparent biggest political Achilles heal -- his
long trail of hedonistic behavior -- he was portrayed as a faithful boyfriend in
his past and loving husband in the present. Maria was cast as practically
the head political strategist in the California governor's race, as well, with
Arnold himself practically hanging on her every word like a little boy.
(Such a different man than the one who allegedly callously sexually molested
dozens of women against their will!)
Overall, the movie cast a very predictable image of the ex-bodybuilder -
businessman - action movie star - governor. He is a winner, a man who sets
high goals and does whatever it takes to accomplish them, which is an image that
is mostly true, though the major part others have played in his successes was
not given much recognition in the film or elsewhere. Setting the stage for
future enhancements to this image was the line spoken by billionaire and
financial guru Warren Buffett's character in the movie where he characterized
solving California's fiscal woes as challenging for even the greatest economic
geniuses. That would make anyone credited with doing so better than an
economic genius, wouldn't it?
Of course, the biggest point of recent media exposure for Schwarzenegger
seems to be whitewashing his dubious past with regard to women (before and since
marriage). Far from the free-wheeling hedonist multiple reports show him
to be up until his political aspirations started materializing a few years ago,
he is now a true gentleman and sensitive husband. Obviously, women no
longer exist simply for his sexual pleasure, as he once said. Rather, it
would seem, they have attained a much higher place in his heart and mind as a
substantial voting block of the electorate.
And just in case someone doesn't get the real point, the movie ends with an
allusion to amending the constitution so foreign-born Arnold could be president.
To whatever degree image really is everything to this generation, the show gives
a good preview of a highly respectable leading U.S. presidential candidate
known, coincidentally, by the same unusual name as a well-known steroid-popping,
megalomaniacal, and hedonistic bodybuilder of yesteryear.
I shook my head when this country re-elected a known philanderer for
president, and cried when we did the same of another guilty of war-crimes by his
own definition. I'm not sure what I'll do when we elect this
Hitler-on-steroids, but my instincts tell me to run and hide.
1/26/2005 - Internet interest in "schwarzenegger antichrist" swells - In contrast to results posted 12/12/2004, Google and Yahoo each show marked increases in the number of pages indexed under this and related search terms, raising from 9,840 to 13,500 (+37%) and from 8,080 to 8,520 (+5%), respectively. Google also reports 2,520 searches for the term in the previous month, up almost 20% from 2,110. Likewise, Overture has increased its forecast 52% by raising its predictions from 4,300 to 6,550 searches per year for the next 12 months and from 5,504 to 8,384 in 3 years. 1/25/2005 - Though I've been quiet lately, it's not because I've dropped this matter. Rather, what I've been doing is compiling the most comprehensive and objective evaluation of name calculations I've seen. The initial results are now posted, and 'President Arnold Schwarzenegger' is at the top of the BNF (Beast Number Factor) A-List, followed closely by 9 others, including Tony Blair, Dick Armitage, Andy Card, and Al Gore. One of the findings is that virtually anyone's name can be rendered and tabulated in a way that totals 666, so there must be some degree of reason involved in how this is done. That is what the
Beast Number Factor project does by filtering through over a million calculations on nearly 18,000 name renditions (at present) for any and all 666 totals, and the results are interesting.
