Religious Antichrist

As far as religion goes, the only "god" the antichrist will truly serve is himself, and he will be an icon of success in the field of self-promotion.  He will do what the real Messiah refused to do: Trade his soul for the sake of ruling the world, meaning that he will, in stark contrast to Christ Himself, be driven by ambitions of glory rather and at the expense of truth and righteousness.  Yahshua declined to do anything that violated His Father's will no matter what the gain seemed to be, but this man will do anything to perpetuate his own glory no matter what, a philosophy well summarized by Schwarzenegger himself as, "You have to do everything possible to win no matter what."

While, admittedly, such an attitude doesn't distinguish itself from the heart of Christianity as clearly as it should in these times, but it remains diametrically opposed to the real gospel just the same.  (Since that seems rather obvious to anyone even remotely familiar with the Scriptures, I'll forego arguing the point for now.)   In fact, the commonality of the religion of self-promotion has so thoroughly infested our pseudo-Christian society, it wouldn't even hardly be worth mentioning in this context except for one fact:  Arnold Schwarzenegger is a mega-self promoter, an icon of success around the world, which goes hand in glove with the fact that the Antichrist will be "successful at everything he does." 

There's no reason to think the antichrist particularly "religious," though, especially since his appeal to those with strong religiously-oriented convictions will be drawn in by the miracle-working false prophet, he will almost certainly not be "disqualified" on the basis of his religious status, either.   The antichrist will be accepted by the Christians as a political savior on a white horse when the time comes, anyway, and whatever doubt hard-liners might have will be dispensed with by the phony, miracle-working false prophet standing at the side of the antichrist.   In fact, most will probably accept them as the two witnesses of Revelation 11 while casting the real prophets as the antichrist and false prophet.  Proving themselves to be the spiritual children of the Pharisees, people will choose the powerful self-glorying Caesar to lead them over the unseen Christ revealed by the two real prophets of that time. 

Nevertheless, since the full backing of the false prophet and other religious leaders will engender broad support amongst the mostly deluded Christians, the antichrist must at least appear to be a friend of Christians and will likely be a marginal "believer" himself.  In a time of great fear and dread, as recent elections have revealed, Christians are much more concerned with preserving their lifestyle than holding moral and spiritual boundaries; i.e. "marginal" is fine when practical realities are at stake.   This man need only gain the loud endorsements of a handful of Christian "leaders" with open door access to the media, and the Christians will fall in line like so many sheep who've grown deaf to their own Shepherd's voice.

Thus, in surveying the religion and morality of the Antichrist, we see three likely attributes:

1. He will be an amoral hedonist who does what he wants, when he wants, and how he wants to do it without any real regard for right and wrong, though regard for his ambitions would likely cause him and his supporters to conceal his true character and actions that reveal it behind facades of morality.

2. Will maintain at least a marginal facade of Christianity and/or (disingenuous) respect for Christians and their beliefs.

3. Will be extremely and quite successfully self-promoting, likely bearing a sincere Messiah-complex.

4. At least towards the end of his reign, he will not acknowledge any sort of external rule or authority; he is the "son of rebellion" or "lawlessness".

In casting their lots in with this beast, "Christians" will be doing the equivalent of heeding the (children of the devil) religious leaders of Yahshua's time by choosing Caesar over Him, which was the final point resolved in their negotiations with Pilate over him.  The Pharisees and scribes controlled the temple the Romans had built for them and, in a move similar to worshipping Nebuchadnezzar's idolatrous image, roused the unwitting people to pledge their undying loyalty to Caesar, who regarded himself, not the God of the Bible, as the supreme being.  Thus, those who sat in Moses' seat of authority and their followers relegated autonomous power to the secular head of the Roman empire and his proxies!   Unwittingly, by blindly following their leaders, they all became part of the Caesar-cult of their time, and the fact that they still claimed to be the children of God made that a national sin of immense proportions.  That is how a religion develops around a political megalomaniac -- by the people supplanting their allegiance to the one true God of the Bible with allegiance to man.  It's happened many times before -- Nebuchadnezzar and his image, Hitler and his promise of a Third Reich (meaning the kingdom of God ruled by him), King Saul of ancient Israel and the misguided sense of security the people had with him without regard to the clearly outlined tyranny that would follow him, etc.

Likewise, this man will have only one "god" -- himself -- and with the support of Satan-serving religious leaders and some technological wizardry, will attain the voluntary subjection of the Christian community (excepting the few who stand fast) and baptize them into his religion, as well.  Thus, as far as his religious background goes, all we can be relatively sure of is that he will be a nominal "Christian" or better himself by appearances, and that he will garner the support of "real" religious "leaders" during his ascension to power.  Again, in this element of our investigation of future crimes against humanity, Arnold Schwarzenegger fits the profile of our criminal to the tee.

Religious Endorsements, Pro and Con

Schwarzenegger Gets Official Nod As Calif. Governor - Hal Lindsey's "Oracle" staff writer, Greg Linkous, offers a glowing comparison between Arnold Schwarzenegger / California and George W. Bush / United States.  His remarks include [my comments italicized and inserted in brackets]:

Action has long been the middle name of in-coming California governer Arnold Schwarzenegger.

From his body-building days, to his movies, to the lightning campaign that propelled him into the statehouse, this man is no stranger to action.

... He will, no doubt, be under more scrutiny than any other politician in the country, with the exception of the president.

[More than the Speaker of the House, Minority Senate leader, Secretaries of State, Defense and Homeland Security?  Why?]

...It will be very interesting to watch what happens in California over the next year. In a way, it will be a case study of possible scenarios for the upcoming presidential election.

Like George Bush, Arnold Schwarzenegger faces an opposition that will stop at nothing to declare him an "illegal" governer [sic] because of the method by which he was elected. Also, like the president, Schwarzenegger faces massive issues with no easy solution, and an opposition that will probably use every dirty trick they can to stonewall his efforts at reform, again deflecting attention from their stonewalling being the reason for lack of progress.

[Are we to accept that the dreadful liberal opposition's objections to the California coup-de-tat of 2003 make it all squeaky clean?]

As the president faces a public no-win scenario for the war in Iraq, so Schwarzenegger faces a public no-win scenario for California's budget crisis.

The president might do well to watch how Schwarzenegger handles the soon to come attacks. Both men have strong character and an abiding belief in their ability to perform. Both men have reacted well under public scrutiny for past actions. Both are men of action.

It could well be that the next few months of action, or lack of it, will determine not only California's future, but our next president's as well.

Despite Schwarzenegger's extreme liberal views, he has won praise from Republicans nationwide. On virtually every issue worth noting, Schwarzenegger comes down on the left side of the page.

Schwarzenegger is pro-abortion, pro-homosexual rights, pro-gun control, pro-green, and pro-illegal immigration. He even said that Clinton's impeachment made him "ashamed" to call himself a Republican.

Furthermore, Schwarzenegger's immoral escapades make even Bill Clinton look unsoiled. He once bragged in an Oui magazine interview about participating in sex orgies, not to mention his repeated admissions of drug use.
