Harvesting the Harlot...

...into the Winepress of God's Wrath

Phil Maxwell December 1996

Let both (wheat and tares) grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest (end of the world) I will say to the reapers (angels), Gather ye together first the tares (children of the devil), and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat (children of the kingdom) into my barn. (Mt.13:30)

Both wheat and tares cover the entire field (world), though the blade has long since sprung up, and brought forth fruit, revealing with increasing clarity the tares and the wheat. Some spots have higher concentrations of tares (children of the devil), while others have predominately wheat (children of the kingdom). The road that leads to everlasting life is a narrow one, though, and few there be that find it, and this is evidenced by the fact that the tares far outnumber the wheat in this field that represents the world, wherever the Son of Man has sown His good seed of truth and righteousness.

Until the harvest, the entire field is under grace, that is judgment is withheld and the field is protected, lest any children of the kingdom be uprooted before having a chance to bear their fruit. The sun shines and the rain falls upon both the wheat and the tares. The Master of this field is indeed very wise and gracious!

When the harvest comes, then commences a gathering.

The first step is not the gathering of the wheat, however, but is the gathering of the children of the wicked one, the devil.

They are gathered outside of the field that is under the protection of the Lord, outside of grace, and bound together for burning.

Thus, we have the appearance in full of Babylon, the whore, which corresponds to the gathering and bundling of tares outside of the grace of God. Needless to say, there is never a good time or place to be outside of the grace of God, but amongst these tares who have been spewed from the Lord's mouth, separated from His vine, is a frightening prospect, indeed.

This whore who represents herself as the living bride of Christ, is actually the spiritually dead habitation of devils, the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.

This harlot is drunk and still drinking the blood of the saints of God Almighty who patiently keep the commandments of God and the faith of Yahshua the Messiah, who truly love God more than their own lives. She seduces the kings of the earth to drink of the same blood, and all the while she kills the saints of God, she thinks she is doing God a service.

Be not deceived, this woman has a very godly appearance. She sits upon the beast, directing the beast in ways contrary to his own will, ways that seem good. Oh, how marvelous she appears to be, having within her the voice of both the bride and the bridegroom, and music, yet these shall be removed from her. Hidden, so well hidden, within her is the blood of all the prophets and martyrs of God throughout the ages. She is full of names of blasphemy.

As the tares are gathered, stacked, and bundled so is this whore, Babylon, and as the tares, so shall her judgment come as fire. Her plagues shall come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her.

As wild grapes from a vineyard not of God, so shall she be gathered into the winepress. Drunken with the blood of saints, she will not even see that she is being gathered like grapes from a vineyard and cast into the great winepress of God's wrath. She will scoff at the call, the last call for God's people to come out of her while this harvest goes forth. She will kill those who declare her sin and pronounce her judgment. She will boast of her great works, the miracles performed in her, the power she possesses. She will delight in the admiration of others. But her judgment is certain, it will be swift, and she will be cast down violently as God avenges His servants upon her. In the fierceness of His wrath shall the Almighty judge this mother of harlots in the great winepress of His wrath.

The people of God will discern the fruit of this vineyard for what it is, they shall not fail, even in the face of death. They shall proclaim with one voice, the voice of the Lamb of God, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. Many will hear their testimony, the spirit of prophecy, and come out of her, repenting. Oh, people of God, look, the gathering of the children of the devil is happening before your very eyes.

Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear. (Mt.13:43)
